We cherish the contributions of Miriam Shiell, whose longstanding friendship, kindness, and support have consistently enriched our endeavours, and continues here with this exhibition. We are deeply grateful to our dear friend Roald Nasgaard, whose insightful essay inspired the title of this exhibition. His writing not only enhances the catalogue but also deepens our appreciation of Jack Bush’s profound contribution. Roald’s eloquent reflections usher in a wealth of inspiration, fostering a lasting impact and legacy for future generations.
A catalyst for this exhibition has been the publication of Jack Bush Paintings: A Catalogue Raisonné, a critical achievement by Dr. Sarah Stanners. Our appreciation extends also to Karen Wilkin, whose scholarly essays over the years have greatly contributed to a deeper understanding of Jack Bush’s history, enriching our perspective. David and Audrey Mirvish are owed a debt of gratitude for their support to the arts, encouragement of this exhibition, and especially for the generous loan of June Lilac. Most importantly, the Estate of Jack Bush plays an extraordinary role in maintaining and promoting the legacy of Jack Bush. We are singularly grateful for their advice and stewardship.
